A man who admitted to breaking into a Corentyne nursery school and stealing a number of articles was yesterday sentenced to two years in prison by Magistrate Krishendat Persaud.

Mukesh Sankar, called ‘Mole Head’, age 20, of no fixed place of abode pleaded guilty to the break and enter and larceny charge at the Springlands Magistrate’s Court.

On January 8 at Corentyne, Sankar broke and entered the Number 79 Nursery School and stole a quantity of stationery, milk powder and other articles valued at $10,600.

Police prosecutor Michael Grant told the court that the teachers secured the nursery school and left for the day. Sankar broke into the building by removing two zinc sheets and stole the articles.
