Grove Chinese restaurant robbed

Three armed men invaded a Chinese restaurant on the Grove Public Road on Wednesday night and robbed the owner of $50,000 worth of cash and cell phone cards.

Before escaping, one of the bandits assaulted the restaurant’s owner, Lin-Ling Gong and police are continuing investigations into the robbery.

Police reports are that around 10.45 pm Lin-Ling Gong, 39, who is the also the chef at Hung-La Restaurant situated at Lot 6 Grove Public Road, East Bank Demerara, was robbed of $30,000 cash and $20,000 worth of cell phone cards by three men armed with handguns.

The businessman was in the bottom flat restaurant when the suspects entered and stuck him up. They later proceeded to rob him of the cash and phone cards and it was during this that he was assaulted. They then made good their escape.
