CIOG donates $1M in computers

The Central Islamic Organi-sation of Guyana (CIOG) recently donated $1M worth of computers and printers to the Farm Masjid.

A release from the CIOG said that in association with civic-minded citizens, it donated five Dell computers and two printers to the masjid’s computer school which opened around eight months ago. Classes there are conducted by Abdool Sadeek and his wife. Over 20 students from Farm, Herstelling and Providence attend the school.

The release said that “access to education and by extension technology, is critical and as such the CIOG embarked on a deliberate plan to make education accessible to the poor and underprivileged while at the same time providing such high services that would attract students from all sections of society”.
