Two held over CCS robbery

The police have arrested two men in relation to the robbery committed at the CCS Store on Camp Street on Monday morning during which $1,650,953, which belonged to Money Gram, was stolen.

A release from the police yesterday said that it was after intense investigation that the two were arrested and both would be charged shortly. According to reports the store was secured on Friday afternoon but when workers turned up to work on Monday morning they discovered the back door dislodged and further checks revealed that the safe, which contained money was missing. The release said that the police retrieved an empty safe, articles stolen from the robbery of a store at King and Charlotte Streets, and other items including house-breaking equipment. The two are also being questioned by the police in relation to the break-in at R. Sookraj and Sons General Store and Cambio on Regent Street which occurred between December 31, 2006 and January 2 when $16M was stolen.
