The Guyana Volleyball Federation (GVF) will continue its series of volleyball “Clash of the champions” tournament as two top teams battle tomorrow at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH).

The two rivals, Young Achievers of Goed Fortuin and Castrol Strikers will face each other in an exciting match.

The tournament is a five-match series played among all the top teams to determine the best. The Young Achievers have already copped for themselves two wins while Castrol Strikers have one.

At the end of the series the best team will then go against the best of the Berbice teams after which the judges will decide who is supreme.

President of the GVF, Lennie Shuffler told Stabroek Sport in an interview that the series was being used to spot players for national selection and the federation was concentrating on maintaining a high level of play.

According to Shuffler, the federation is currently experiencing problems in booking dates for their matches at ‘CASH’ because the Guyana Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) has booked most of the dates.

Meanwhile, there will be a Volleyball First Division Open Tournament at CASH on March 17.
