Herstelling murder suspect held

Chetram Singh, the Herstelling man who police were pursuing in connection with the murder of his wife Eileen Lall on Tuesday, was yesterday apprehended and is now in police custody.

A source at the Providence Police station confirmed that the man is now in custody at the Brickdam Police station.

Forty-one-year old Eileen Lall of 78 Herstelling New Scheme, East Bank Demerara was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital on Tuesday afternoon. She was stabbed a number of times about the body.

The police at Providence confirmed too that they had been searching for the man for quite some time in response to several reports made of his bad behaviour.
