While the traditional red will be dominant on Valentine’s Day, one lucky person will be driving away in a bright red car, courtesy of Popeye’s Fast food Restaurant which will hand over the car keys on that day.

The giveaway, set to coincide with the restaurant’s third anniversary which falls on Valentine’s Day next Wednesday, will see the fortunate person driving away in the custom-sprayed red Toyota Carina. To be eligible, persons would have purchased food worth $2,000 or over from the restaurant and they would be given a coupon to fill out which would be placed in the box provided. The promotion has been ongoing since December.

Company Secretary of Guyana Stockfeeds Inc. which holds the local franchise for Popeye’s, Priya Nauth-Badal explained that the giveaway is not a sales strategy but because of the loyalty of the restaurant’s customers the decision was taken to give away the car. Previously, she said, the restaurant gave free red roses on Valentine’s Day but in view of the devotion of the customers it was decided to give a car away.

She stated that the customers regularly return for the quality food and commitment to good service for which the restaurant is known. She added that for the big day on February 14 there will be special prices for couples and families and then one person will be driving away with the red car for a “perfect Valentine”.
