A lot of bad publicity for Guyana

Dear Editor,

The withdrawal of Stabroek News ads is giving Guyana too much negative world publicity.

I love when newspapers and magazines around the world carry stories on Guyana, for example today the World Poultry Magazine carried a story on Guyana’s development in that sector and the University of Victoria (The Ring) carried a story about preservation of Guyanese cultural heritage.

Regardless of what or why ads were removed from Stabroek News, Guyana have received a lot of bad publicity from the Commonwealth Press Union, hardbeatnews. com, caribbeannetnews.com, Jamaica Gleaner, Hemscott, ABC Money, Forex TV, Forbes, The International Press Institute (IPI), Reporters Without Borders, Barbados Daily Nation and a host of local organizations.

I hope both parties involved would come to some type of compromise because in the end Guyana is hurting.

Yours faithfully,

Asif Mohamed
