Guyflag inter-association football

National football players, Gregory ‘Jackie Chan’ Richardson and Collie Hercules ensured that their respective associations could move on through emphatic wins when the Guyflag inter-association football tournament continued on Sunday.

Richardson completed a hat-trick scoring in the 55th, 83rd and 88th minutes for the Georgetown Football Associ-ation (GFA) that put the icing on the cake in a

10-2 thumping of the Berbice Football Association (BFA) at the Rose Hall Community Centre ground.

Richardson followed up on goals from Neville Stanton, who opened the Georgetown account in the 8th minute, Nigel Codrington, Anthony Abrams and a double from Konata Mannings and Shawn Bishop.

Codrington scored in the 43rd minute while Mannings had his first in the 70th and his second goal in the 85th. Abrams scored in the 75th minute with Bishop completing his double in the 76th and 78th minutes respectively.

Berbice’s two goals came off the boots of Adrian Adams in the 52nd minute and Delroy Fraser in the 72nd minute.

In Linden, Hercules netted in the 62nd and 74th minutes for the Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA) to help inflict a 5-0 whipping of the East Bank Football Association (EBFA).

Romain scored Upper Demerara’s first goal in the 2nd minute with East Bank adding one in the 36th and national midfielder Kayode McKinnon sealing the deal for the Linden side in the 71st minute.
