Region 6 chairman and team addressing concerns of Crabwood Creek

Dear Editor,

We the residents of Crabwood Creek on the Corentyne are very thankful and satisfied that the Regional Chairman of Region Six, Mr Zulkfikar Mustapha and his team are concerned about our community. This was disclosed at a recent meeting with the Chairman, Community Rela-tions Officer, Mr Faizal Jafarally, Senior Superinten-dent of Works Andy Jagmohan and Chairman of the Water Users Association.

The chairman pledged to visit our community on the third Thursday of each month in an effort to be aware of the issues affecting us. The NDC in our area was given a $3M subvention and an additional $3M for road works. Mr Mustapha charged us to become involved in the development of our community.

The chairman and his team promised to address our concerns this year, including the deterioration of the roads in the area, the use of drugs by youths, garbage disposal, cattle-rearing in the residential areas, etc.

We welcome the chair-man’s new initiatives and look forward to seeing him and his team more often.

Yours faithfully,

D. Raywat
