Armed bandits rob Yarrowkabra family

Three armed bandits yesterday morning robbed a poultry farmer and his wife at Yarrowkabra, Linden/Soesdyke Highway of some $55,000 cash and a quantity of other articles. Police however later recovered some of the booty abandoned in the said area.

According to a statement from the police, investigations have so far revealed that poultry farmer Clairmont Walters and his wife Patricia had just returned home around 1 am yesterday with pickup GEE 6717, when the bandits attacked them.

According to the police the bandits held up and robbed them of the cash and jewellery and then took the couple into their home where they were tied up. The bandits then loaded articles, which included a generator, a computer, three power saws and a grass cutter among other articles into the pickup and drove it away. Following investigations, police found the vehicle around 2 pm abandoned in the Yarrowkabra area with most of the booty.

Investigations are continuing.
