Gunmen rob Robb St business

Police are investigating an armed robbery committed by three gunmen on a Robb Street, Bourda businessman on Wednesday.

In a statement, the police said that around 7:30 am on Wednesday three men armed with handguns robbed Nathan DeSouza of $200,000 cash at Robb Street, Bourda, Georgetown.

DeSouza and Maria Siliede, ages 57 and 50 years respectively, operate a grocery and were tending to it when the robbers attacked. The bandits drove up in a motorcar, entered the establishment and held up the owners and a female employee demanding cash. They then took them to a section of the building and ordered DeSouza to open a safe from which they stole the cash and other valuables then fled the scene.

Investigations are continuing, the police release added.
