Workers put out fire at DIDCO

A small fire broke out in the generator room of DIDCO at Friendship, East Bank Demerara but quick work by employees saved the company from any real damage.

Stabroek News understands that just before 11 pm on Sunday, the company’s generator probably overheated and a small fire started. Employees were able to quickly put it out and minimal damage was done to the area surrounding the generator. The fire service was not called because of the quick action by the employees. This newspaper attempted to get a comment from the company, but was unsuccessful. When this newspaper visited the location yesterday morning it was business as usual.
