Schools Futsal tournament kicks off today

The National Inter-Secondary Schools FUTSAL (Football) 2007 tournament will kick off with six matches today at the National Gymnasium from 4pm.

The opening ceremony will feature a grand march past of all the competing teams followed by an address by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Dr. Frank Anthony.

Some 20 schools will be participating in the tournament in which they will be placed in 11 groups ranging from A-J.

Attractive prizes worth $500,000 will be up for grabs. The Most Valuable Player (MVP) will take home a complete computer set, among other prizes.

The tournament is sponsored by Edward Beharry Chico Sweets, National Sports Commission (NSC), Ansa McAl, Guyoil and the New G.P.C.
