Nine schools copped victories when play in the Chico Sweets/Smalta inter-secondary schools futsal tournament continued Thursday night at the National Gymnasium.

In the opening match Zeeburg Secondary’s Jamal Downer, Sherlock Griffith and Orin Fontanelle each booted three goals as Zeeburg swamped Christ Church Secondary 9-0.

In other results St. George’s High defeated St. Stanislaus 5-2; Golden Grove defeated Brickdam Secondary 3-2; Covent Garden defeated Queen’s College 4-0; St. Joseph High defeated Campbellville Secondary 4-0 and North Ruimveldt won against Carmel Secondary 2-0.

In the battle of the night, Tucville Secondary got the better of Lodge Community High, 2-0, while Charlestown Secondary defeated St. Barnabas 3-0. In the night’s final game Kingston Community High and South Ruimveldt played to a two all draw.

The tournament will continue tonight with eight matches.
