Approximately 20 of the country’s top golfers are participating in the Suriname Open Golf tournament known as the RBTT (Suriname) N.V. Invitational, 2007.

According to a release, the tournament will be played today and tomorrow on the golf club’s Paramaribo Indira Gandhiweg course.

The tournament will be divided into the following five handicap flights: Men 0-15, 16-25, 26-30 and Ladies 0-22 and 23-36.

The format will be played over 36 holes, stroke play with handicap adjustment after the first round.

The local golfers who are participating in the tournament are:Mike Guyadin, Ian Gouveia, Patrick Prashad, Colin Ming, Basil Sukhram, Avinash Persaud, Tim Baharani, Martin Short, Jeremy Burgess, Raj Sankar, Mike Mangal, Alfred Mentore, George Bulkhan, Ronald Bulkhan, John Tracy, Chatterpaul Deo, Ramesh Amrud, Imran Khan and Bholaram Deo.

There are also two females in the touring party in Christine Sukhram and Ritva Sallma.
