The Guyana Legion elected a new president at its annual general meeting hosted on Sunday last.

In a press release, the group said World War 11 veteran Hector Bunyan was elected president after he obtained a windfall 32 votes against outgoing president Gladwin Samwells who obtained 14 votes.

The release said Winfield James was returned treasurer unopposed. Other members of the executive include vice-presidents Henry King, Ivan Crandon and George Gooding and members L. Percival, Hector Stoute and Bert Douglas. Former chancellor Aubrey Bishop was the returning officer.

The meeting was held at Legion Hall.
