Dear Editor,

I write as President of the Guyana Islamic Forum for Education, Peace and Religious Solidarity. The Guyana Islamic Forum, as far we know is the only Non-Sectarian Islamic organization in the world, with the only Non-Sectarian mosque, maybe in the world; all others claim allegiance to some sect, which has pitted Muslims against Muslim.

We dedicate ourselves to work with all peoples of Faith, and even people without Faith, to create a nation, and world of Peace and Goodwill.

With this in mind, we are extremely disturbed that that some people are objecting to the appointment of Pandit Gossai, and that these people will try to make all kinds of statements, while trying to intellectualize their opinions.

Shri Gossai, we believe, is an excellent Guyanese who has returned to serve his country. As a man of Faith, he has never been known to attack any religions; instead he preaches Love and Peace, as a basic tenet of his religion, Sanatan Dharm (Universal laws).

As a Muslim personally, and as an Islamic Organization, we feel very sorry that so many are actually insulting this gentleman in so many ways, and it is admirable that he kept his cool, and has not retaliated in any way. We know he has a tremendous capacity to do just that. But as a wise man he remains quiet, and does his work.

The Guyana Islamic Forum endorses the appointment of Pandit Gossai, and we believe most Muslims will have no objection to his appointment.
