The Licence Revenue Office (LRO) has begun issuing and renewing motor vehicle licences for this year and it has extended it working hours to cater for the expected influx of drivers.

According to a press release, the LRO is now operating from its new headquarters and with an increased staff. The office is prepared for a large crowd come next week as it would be closer to month-end.

Licence holders have a three-month grace period to have their documents renewed and this period concludes on June 12.

In order to ensure that all licence holders are given the opportunity and adequate time to renew their documents the LRO has extended its working hours, the release said. The period for renewing licences, which formerly ended at 11.30 am each day has now been extended to 3.30 pm from Monday to Thursday and to 2.30 pm on Fridays.
