Critchlow hosts exhibition of local art

The Critchlow Labour College will host an art exhibition featuring the work of several contemporary local artists.

According to a statement from the college, the exhibition, entitled ‘Unity in Diversity,’ will open tomorrow and will run until April 21.

On display will be works by Desmond Alli, Carl Anderson, Dudley Charles, Winslow Craig, Aubrey Estwick, Lori Ann Jacobs, Linden Jammott, Ohene Koama, Davina Lowe, Akima McPherson, Linden Maxwell, Kenneth Nelson, Beverley Reynolds, Winston Strick, Josefa Tamayo, Sean Thomas, Trevor Thornhill and guest artist, USA-based Abbyssinian.

Many of the artists participated in the highly acclaimed exhibition, ‘The Art of Guyana: a Multi-cultural Caribbean Adventure,’ at the IDB Cultural Centre in Washington DC, USA, between May and August, last year.

The exhibition opens at 6 pm tomorrow at the Pollydore Auditorium, Woolford Avenue, Thomas Lands, Georgetown. It will run every day from 9 am to 9 pm until its closing.

The exhibition is an initiative of the college in association with the Guyana United Artists and the Roots & Culture Gallery.
