Don’t miss these book sales

Dear Editor,

Reading enables one to gain personal self development among other things and to the young generation who have to accept the baton sooner or later, grab this opportunity and support the book sale that is now on by the Georgetown Reading and Research Centre (GRRC) and The Guyana Book Found-ation at their respective venues.

“The gain of knowledge is more valuable than materialistic gain” – Sir Richard Steele (1672-1729) Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body.

Yours faithfully,

T Pemberton

Editor’s note

The Guyana Book Foundation’s fair at 56 New Garden and Anira Streets, Queenstown, is over but interested persons can visit the office to buy books. The GRRC sale continues until the March 31 at 179 Waterloo Street, George-town, next door to St John’s College. This Centre runs a special programme called READY (Read Early And Develop Yourself) where children between the ages of nine and eleven can join and borrow books without charge.
