The Guyana Water Inc (GWI) says Central Georgetown customers will receive water at reduced pressure as the company is relying on its wells located in Vlissengen Road and Church Street for supply.

In a press release, the company said it has been forced to discontinue the intake of water from the Lamaha Conservancy since the emergency works the East Demerara Water Conservancy Board conducted on the Lamaha Canal has resulted in discoloured water entering its Shelter-Belt Treatment Plant.

The GWI said the Board has stopped the maintenance works because of these complications. Therefore, Central Georgetown customers would have received water at reduced pressure yesterday from 5 pm to 10 pm and today from 4.30 am to 9 am, from 11 am to 12 noon and from 5 pm to 10 pm.

Customers are advised to contact the company’s Customer Call Centre at telephone number 227-8701 or to visit its website at www.gwiguyana.com for more information.
