Dear Editor,

Firstly I want to congratulate the Sri Lankan team for superb entertainment at the Providence Stadium. I am very proud of them even though they did not win the match and I hope their Sri Lankan fans are proud of them too.

I believe with a little more team effort they would’ve won in fine style, however I am sure they would not spare the West Indies on Sunday. I am not a Sri Lankan, I am a Guyanese, however, I back both of the two teams.

While in Guyana, I hope the team would take time out to meet with their Guyanese fans because I have been looking forward for years to meet them and to tell them in person how much I enjoy their cricket. “Murli, Jayasuriya, Vass and Mallinga if you guys are reading this letter, I want you to know that you have what it takes to make your country proud and I hope you win this World Cup if West Indies don’t make it. I wish you a warm stay in Guyana and hope you come back soon.

Yours faithfully,

R. Chung
