Dear Editor,

My relative whose NIS# is 10118735 has been waiting for over one year to collect his sickness and invalidity benefits from the National Insurance Scheme.

In March 2006, he submitted his sickness claim without any success. In June 2006, he was placed before the Medical Department of NIS and he was deemed eligible for the invalidity benefit. Today, he is confined to a wheelchair without any financial support from NIS.

NIS has not given him a single voucher and his repeated calls to the offices have been met with the famous “we will call you”. In the meantime, a poor man is hungry and angry.

Yours faithfully,

(name and address supplied)

Editor’s note
