PNCR condemns killing of MMC guards

The recent killing of two MMC security guards, Rodwell Clarke and Warren Hutson, has been condemned by the People’s National Congress Reform and the party described the attack as yet another senseless killing by criminal elements.

During its weekly media briefing on Thursday the party expressed condolences to the families of the deceased.

And the party is calling on the Guyana Police Force to expeditiously undertake a thorough investigation and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Meanwhile, the police came in for high praise from the party for their role along with public-spirited citizens in the apprehension of the bandits who robbed a cambio on Main Street.

The party in a statement, however, repeated its previous warning to the police and advice to the public about the dangerous practice of the premature profiling of persons to justify unacceptable police actions.

According to the party’s statement, it has taken note of the statement by Lieutenant Colonel Jawalla Persaud of the Guyana Defence Force to the effect that “We are not targeting the community of Buxton
