Two persons were arrested following the discovery of an illegal firearm, ammunition and firearm silencers in a house at Diamond Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara yesterday.

According to the police around 3.30 am, ranks conducted a search on a house in Diamond Housing Scheme and found an unlicensed .38 Taurus pistol with four matching rounds, three 9 mm rounds and three improvised firearm silencers.

A man and a woman are in police custody and charges will be laid shortly.
