Four patrons of a liquor restaurant at Line Path, Skeldon were attacked by four men, two of whom were armed with firearms and two with knives. According to a police statement the patrons were attacked around 8 pm on Sunday.

Reports are that Harrichand Ketwaru of Line Path, Jagdesh Persaud of No. 78 Village, Aaron Subnandur of Skeldon and Rohan Dewnarayan of Crabwood Creek were patrons of the liquor restaurant when the men entered and held them at gunpoint.

The police statement said the men were placed to lie on the ground and the bandits took away a total of five cell phones, $75,000 Guyana currency, U$150 and motor car PKK 6665 belonging to Dewnarayan. During the robbery Ketwaru was shot in his left shoulder by one of the bandits. He was treated at the New Amsterdam Hospital and sent away.

The bandits escaped in the vehicle which was subsequently found abandoned at Kingston Public Road, Corriverton. Police have since recovered a .223 spent shell at the scene. Investigations are continuing.
