CIOG says month of Ramadan was a training ground

President of the Central Isla-mic Organisation of Guyana (CIOG) Fazeel Ferouz said in an Eid-Ul-Fitr message that the holy month of Ramadan was a training ground to reawaken everyone physically, morally and spiritually.

“This training is necessary in order for us to continue to play a role in the development of our country,” he noted while pointing out that “we need to work with our Guyanese brothers and sisters of all religions, races and cultures to make Guyana a better place for our future generation.”

The CIOG president also urged everyone on this day of Eid to reflect on the area of nation-building and commit to become actively involved in the development process. “We must work to ensure that our political leaders, our government works in the interest of all the people of our country”.

He also stated that “We must demand that at all levels of government our officials observe the best practice of good governance and do not discriminate against anyone.”
