The Inter-religious Organisa-tion of Guyana says that the month of Ramadan is a period of tremendous sacrifices to enhance the spirituality of the individual which in reality is for the betterment of all mankind.

In its message the IRO (Guyana) said “our Muslim brothers and sisters are encouraged to celebrate the feast after the fast (Eid-ul-Fitr) with the usual zeal of love for family and friends and the poor.

It was in the month of Ramadan, the IRO (Guyana ) said that the Holy Quran commenced its revelation by God Almighty through the Angel Gabriel.

The inter-religious body also extended a most joyful and successful Eid Mubarak to the Islamic community in Guyana and to all Guyanese.
