Guyanese Marvin Harmon was remanded into custody on Wednesday in Barbados after he was charged with the murder of his wife Roseanna Yearwood on Monday.

The 33-year-old general worker of Apartment 9, Two Sons Apartments, Stadium Road, St. Michael, appeared in the District “A” Criminal Court 2 before Acting Magistrate Laurie-Ann Smith-Bovell.

He has retained the services of attorney-at-law Desmond Sands.

The woman’s bloodied body was discovered in the apartment she shared with the man since they moved to Barbados in 2005. Reports indicate that the couple had a fractious relationship and was living on the island illegally. Harmon was arrested on Tuesday afternoon as he attempted to flee that country. Yearwood is the second Guyanese woman to have been killed in that country in recent months.
