Albion man dies after truck accident

Twenty-three-year-old Shazad Ali of Lot 39 A Albion High Reef is the latest person to have died by accident on the Corentyne Highway.

Azim Ali, the father of Shazad Ali, told Stabroek News that his son was standing at the Archway Road, in Rose Hall Town on Monday when a truck swerved from a minibus and ran into Shazad.

The driver did not stop until onlookers chased, and caught up with him. Shazad was rushed to the New Amsterdam Hospital, and then was transferred to the Georgetown Hospital where he died on Tuesday whilst receiving medical attention. He has left to mourn his wife, Nafeeza Ghanie, and one-year-old son Basid Ali.
