Canje Night on at Rose Hall today

The Ministry of Agriculture and the Guyana Marketing Corporation (GMC) are hosting Canje Night at the Rose Hall Community Centre in East Berbice, tonight.

A GMC press release said “Canje Night is the last major event in observance of Agriculture Month 2007″ and it is expected to attract a wide cross-section of people from within and without the region. GMC General Manager Nizam Hassan said based on the response at past agriculture expositions in the region he expects the event to be successful.

GMC said a number of private sector companies including Ainlim’s Berbice branch, Demerara Distillers Limited, Banks DIH and Nand Persaud and Company have signalled their intention to participate. Agriculture entities such as the National Agricultural Research Insti-tute, the Guyana Forestry Commission, the Guyana Sugar Corporation’s East Berbice Estates and the Port Mourant Training Centre and the Pesticides and Toxic Chemicals (Control) Board are also participating.
