A 50-year-old man is now nursing stab wounds to his body at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) after he went to the rescue of a woman who was being robbed at the Linden bus park and was attacked by the bandit.

Doyann Ross of Lot 10, Soesdyke Linden Highway, is now a patient in Ward B2 of the hospital in a stable condition.

Stabroek News understands that early Saturday evening Ross, who is the driver of one of the Sparta buses, observed the woman being attacked by the bandit. He went to her assistance and in turn was attacked by the man who was armed with a knife. The man escaped and it is not clear if was able to steal anything from the woman.
