Mazaruni roads, drains set for Nov 20 finish

The Ministry of Housing and Water recently awarded a $15.3M contract to facilitate the construction of drains, roads and other works in Region Seven.

According to a press release from the Region Seven Democratic Council the contract was given to Ivor Allen Construction and is expected to be completed by November 20. The contract is for the installation of drainage pipes, drains and roadways on the West Secondary School Housing Scheme, Four Miles Housing Scheme and the West Indian Housing Scheme (WIHS) in the Lower Mazaruni District.

The release said at Four Miles drains have already been installed, drains and roads at the WIHS have been extended and at the school’s housing scheme a road has been constructed.
