Fisherman charged with carnal knowledge of sisters

A 40-year-old fisherman who allegedly had carnal knowledge of two sisters was remanded to prison when he appeared at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

Roscio Mercurious called ‘Colin’ of Lot 2 Vergenoegen, East Bank Essequibo was not required to plead to two indictable charges of carnal knowledge and was remanded to prison by Magistrate Fazil Azeez.

It is alleged that on October 22 he had carnal knowledge of a 14-year-old girl. It is also alleged that on the same day he had carnal knowledge of her sister, who is 15-years-old.

Mercurious will return to court on November 19 at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court.
