In order to increase debit card usage in Guyana, Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited, the Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry Limited and Demerara Bank Limited have collaborated with the Bank of Guyana to launch the ‘Swipe and Win’ promotion.

According to an Inglefield Ogilvy press release, consumers nationwide are encouraged to use their ONE CARD, Kaieteur Classic or Money Master debit cards at any point of sale locations since this will make them eligible to be one of three lucky winners to be credited $30,000, $20,000 and $10,000 to their accounts. Winners will be selected every two weeks.

The promotion which began yesterday will run until December 31, 2007. Draw dates are on November 15, November 30, December 14 and December 31, the release stated.

It also noted that debit card usage has been proven to be one of the safest, most convenient and easiest ways of transacting business. Whether it is paying utility bills, shopping or ordering meals, using debit cards also make paying flexible. And with the ‘Swipe and Win’ promotion consumers will have a chance to win, the release added.
