Gunpoint robbery accused remanded

A man who is accused of robbing a girl at gunpoint was yesterday remanded to prison by Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

Kelvaugh Niles, no address given, was not required to plead to the indictable charge of robbery under arms.

It is alleged that yesterday at Georgetown, while armed with a gun, he robbed Takesha Halley of a gold chain valued at $25,000, a cellular phone worth $85,000 and $15,000, a total value of $125,000, the property of Halley.

Niles will return to court on January 22 at Court Five.
