Youth hospitalized after wedding house stabbing

A 17-year-old boy is hospitalized at the Georgetown Public Hospital after he was stabbed several times about the body by a man with whom he had an old grievance.

Hospital sources gave the name of the injured lad as Altaff Sammad, a resident of Hope, East Coast Demerara.

Sammad is in a stable but serious condition in the High Dependency Unit. He sustained two stab wounds to the foot, one to the hand and another to the back during the attack. He arrived at the medical institution around 21:00 hours Wednesday.

Reports are that the lad was at a wedding when the man went to him and started to stab him. He was rushed to the hospital and admitted.
