The Neal and Massy Group of Companies will host two annual Needy Children’s Christmas parties to benefit children from the East Bank Demerara area.
In a press release the company said 425 less-fortunate children will participate in the events, one to be held at its Sports Club at Lot 5 Ruimveldt today, while the second party will be held at the Demerara Oxygen Company Limited compound tomorrow. The parties will start at 1 pm.
The company said children will be drawn from communities such as Ruimveldt, Yarrow Dam, Alexander Village, Houston, McDoom, Agricola, Eccles and Bagotstown to participate in a celebration with music, games, food gifts and a Christmas clown to indulge them. Santa will then present each child with a Christmas present.
The company said it is hosting the fete to allow underprivileged children to experience the joy and fun of the season. It said it has been hosting such parties for about 10 years and that over the years the event’s popularity with children has grown significantly.
The release said the parties are just one of the many community development projects it has undertaken since it began operations in Guyana 39 years ago.
