Gunmen storm Stain-Masters

Two armed bandits yesterday robbed the Stain-Masters (Guyana Limited) company located at Aubrey Barker Road, South Ruimveldt of money and also took items from an employee before escaping.

In a five-minute ordeal, the bandits, who were armed with handguns, forced the eight staff members to lie on the floor.

The attack occurred at around 9:55 am yesterday and according to the general manager (GM), who requested that his name not be revealed, the bandits, who came in as though they were customers walked up to the receptionist and pointing their guns at her, forced her to lead them to the accounts section.

Once there, they demanded to see the manager and when the female office manager was identified, they demanded cash and forced her to open a metal safe. $35 000 was in the safe and the bandits took this. The GM said that the company does not keep large amounts of cash on the premises. The robbers also took away the office manager’s laptop computer, a camera and a gold band.

The GM, who was coming to see what was going on was accosted by the bandits and also forced to lie alongside his employees.

After seeing that they could not get anything more the bandits left. The man said that the robbers had apparently arrived on foot and left the same way.

The GM, who was still upset yesterday stated that the incident “open my eyes that we are all vulnerable to what is going on in today’s society”.

The man said that since the company, which cleans carpets and also sells related products, had been established 14 years ago, this was the first time it had been robbed.

Police are investigating the matter.
