Cutlass robbery accused remanded

A man accused of using a cutlass in robbing another of his cell phone and cash, appeared yesterday in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court and was remanded to prison by Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton.

Clive Forde was not required to plead to the indictable charge of robbery under arms.

It is alleged that on December 10, Forde together with an accomplice robbed Orlando Cottem of one cell phone valued $4500 and $21,060 cash using a cutlass.

Prosecutor Desiree Fowler asked the court to refuse Forde bail since the offence was a serious and prevalent one. Fowler said too that if granted bail there is the likelihood that he will not attend court. The matter will be called again next Wednesday.
