Director of Industrial Training, Dr Dale Bisnauth has charged the second batch of gradates from a national youth programme to build on the foundation they have received.

During a graduation ceremony at the National Cultural Centre on Friday, Bisnauth called on the graduates to be ambassadors of the programme.

The National Training Project for Youth Empower-ment was launched in June 2005 by President Bharrat Jagdeo. The project aims at providing training in technical areas for unemployed youths and helping them prepare for the working world. Throughout the training, youths from all ten administrative regions were attached to several business entities where they got on-the-job experience in various fields. Some areas in which the youths were trained include childcare, health care, joinery, carpentry, refrigeration and cosmetology among others.

Addressing the graduates, Bisnauth urged them to sharpen the skills they have received and not to underestimate themselves. “Many times society places more emphasis on those who deal with the theoretical side
