Man, vessel held with suspected illegal fuel

Police have detained a vessel and a man is in custody assisting with investigations after 75 drums of diesel and seven drums of gasoline suspected to be illegal fuel were found aboard.

A police statement said that about 3:30 pm on Sunday, ranks of a police river patrol stopped and searched the vessel at Issano, Mazaruni and the man was taken into custody.

Investigations are continuing.
