Dear Editor,

It is noted that in your article of January 1, 2007 captioned “Glarey gets wheelchairs, supplies” (on page 14 of your newspaper) it was reported that a wheelchair was donated by Gafoors and a wheelchair and some foodstuff by the Ministry of Human Services. This statement is incorrect.

Myself as the Director of the PNCR Human Services Department and staff visited Ms. Bowling at approximately 5:30 p.m. last Friday 29th December to deliver food items, books, school supplies and a monetary contribution; when we arrived Ms. Bowling along with her family said she had not received a wheelchair.

Upon learning this I immediately returned to my office and took a wheelchair for Ms. Bowling.

I take the time to explain the above hoping that you will correct the inaccuracies in your report.

Have a blessed and healthy 2007.

Yours faithfully

Volda Lawrence, M.P.

Director

PNCR Human Services

Department

Editor’s note

The reporter had been told by a relative of Ms. Bowling that it was the Ministry of Human Services that had donated the wheelchair and supplies. The relative may not have realised that it was the Human Services Department of the PNCR.
