Dear Editor,

The New Diamond Housing Scheme now falls under the administration of the Grove NDC. This is a welcome development and residents look forward to provision of necessary services to this growing community.

My immediate concern is the obvious nuisance of cows being brought by their owners from the Grove area and deliberately let loose on unoccupied house lots and the area at large in Section A Block X.

I witness daily that a particular owner of nearly two dozen cows brings these animals to the first street in Block X for grazing. On one particular morning, he drove the cows onto Lots 8 & 10 which are unoccupied.

The destruction to parapets and house lots is of grave concern.

On the morning of Monday, November 26, this person stood on the southern side of the main road and drove the cows over to the first street in Diamond Housing Scheme.

He turned nonchalantly on his way back to Grove. I was accompanied by a four-year old toddler on our way to catch a bus. We were forced to seek safety on a resident’s bridge for close to ten minutes while the cows took their own time determining their direction. The animals were not supervised.

The Grove NDC must act now to halt this ridiculous situation. Owners of house lots spend enormous sums of money to develop their plots. It is the obligation of the District Council to take corrective action.

Yours faithfully,

Rudolph D Mahadeo
