Dear Editor,

Old age pensions for 2008 have been increased by 6% making the pension $3,895.

Public service employees are however allowed an increase of 9% with effect from January 1, 2007.

In fairness to the old age pensioners who are a very vulnerable group, I am suggesting the government seek to offer them a similar 9% increase on their pensions.
