We should recall our Ambassador to Venezuela

Dear Editor,

The leadership of the GNP strongly condemns the military aggression displayed by Venezuelan forces in the Cuyuni river. It is our position that there should be a strong response by Guyana. The GNP believes that this response should include recalling the current Venezuelan Ambassador as a strong protest against the actions of military personnel of Venezuela.

The GNP also thinks that the military presence of the GDF should be reinforced in this area along with an increase of military equipment.

The GNP has been monitoring the rise of dictatorship in Venezuela and we have had incidents like this before and incidents like this will increase as the dictatorship becomes more concentrated.

Yours faithfully,

Vaughn Elroy Jeffrey Phillips

Leader, Guyana Nationalists Party
