Chubby U-13 League…

Wins by Uprising and Santos in the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Chubby U-13 league competition has set up the possibility of an exciting showdown between the two teams to decide the winners of the inaugural competition.

Playing at the Tucville ground yesterday Uprising maintained their lead at the top of the points standings with a 4-0 mauling of Pele courtesy of a first half hat-trick from Devon Harris in the eighth, 20th and 25th minutes respectively which was supported by Kimra Braithwaite’s 45th minute strike.

The unbeaten Uprising are on 22 points gained from seven wins and one draw and their final game will be against Santos on October 27.

Santos, who are in second place with 17 points are still in with an outside chance of lifting the title. They will however need to win their remaining two matches against Alpha on Saturday and their final-round game against Uprising.

They edged Fruta Conquerors 2-1 on Saturday through a double from Amuneke Rogers who scored both goals from the penalty spot in the 50th and 57th minutes. Fruta Conquerors’ goal came in the 32nd minute through Pernell Schultz.
