Uitvlugt inflicted a 3-0 beating on Wales to open their 2007 season on a positive note as the West Demerara Football Association Division One Mal Skills league competition got underway at the Wales Community Centre ground on Sunday Oct. 21. Charles Petty opened the scoring in the eight minute and a strike from Charles Stoby in the 26th minute ensured a 2-0 lead at the half for Uitvlugt. Twenty minutes after the resumption, Sherwin Sanjerman sealed the issued for the winners. Earlier, the nine participating teams took part in the march past of teams and were addressed by WDFA President Kenneth Thomas. Kicking off the day was an under-15 exhibition game between a Georgetown selection and a West Demerara side. The two teams played to a goalless stalemate.
