Come tomorrow cyclists from around the country will take to the National Park circuit in the Troy Humphrey/James Fowler Memorial cycling extravaganza. Riders from the BMX beginner category to veterans will engage each other in the battle for the cash prizes and trophies up for grabs. The Seniors category one will be the feature race of the day with 20,000 at stake for the winner, 18,000 for the second place winner and 16,000 for third with monetary prizes all the way down to 10th place. Juniors and Juveniles will also be in the money hunt with the top three prizes the same as the Seniors. Before these marquee races the kids and veterans will take to the track for prizes ranging from 6,000 to 500 dollars. Some of the day’s events include 1. BMX 7-9 year for one lap with 1500 dollars for the winner, 1000 dollars for second place and 500 for third. 2. BMX Girls 7-12 years for one lap with 1500 dollars for the winner, 1000 dollars for second place and 500 for third. 3. BMX 9-12 years for two laps with 1500 dollars for the winner, 1000 dollars for second place and 500 for third. 4. BMX 12-14 years for three laps with 2000 dollars for the winner, 1500 for second and 1000 for third 5. BMX Open-3 laps, 2500 for 1st, 2000 for 2nd and 1500 for 3rd. There will also be 7 prime point prizes for the Juniors and Juveniles and 10 for the Seniors. The extravaganza is in memory of late local cycling stalwarts Troy Humphrey and James Fowler.
